Mark W. Mattei LTC (US Army, Ret.)
With over 25 years of experience in Military leadership and operations, cyber operations, cybersecurity, information security, cybersecurity operations and managed security services, Mark has an in-depth understanding of how Managed Security Services and Security Operations Centers are built, run, resourced, sold, marketed, contracted, and scaled.
Mark attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he studied mechanical engineering, before joining the U.S. Army as a commissioned officer. He has a master’s in telecommunications from the University of Colorado, and has worked in the networking, offensive cyber operations and defensive cyber operations fields supporting 24x7 operations his entire career.
Mark has served at the Army's Global Network Operations and Security Center, deputy director, Office of Counter Cyber Operations for the NSA/CSS Threat Operations Center, and the deputy director, Joint Cyber Center for the United States Central Command.
Over the last 10 years, Mark built the North American managed security business for Forrester Wave recognized Strong performer and Leader in the midsized MSSP, Kudelski Security Cyber Fusion Center and most recently, Mark built and lead the 1898 & Co. Advanced Threat Protection Center (ATPC) , a Westlands Advisors 2025 innovator of the year Industrial Cybersecurity Consulting and Managed Services business.
